PercusSing are a unique and dynamic soprano and marimba duo formed by Ana Beard Fernández and Zoë Scheuregger, both graduates from the University of York. PercusSing performed for the first time on 1 May 2015, at the National Centre for Early Music, York, as part of the York Spring Festival of New Music. For this concert, they commissioned seven composers from around the UK to write for them for this special occasion. The duo performed again in York on 4 July 2015 as part of the Late Music series of lunchtime recitals.
Both Ana and Zoë are involved in the contemporary music scene in the UK, and welcome composers to write for them.
PercusSing return to the Late Music lunchtime concert series on 1 July 2017. The concert will explore themes of war, conflict, peace and resolution, and heavily features the text of Emily Dickinson. The concert will also be the launch of PercusSing’s debut CD, ‘Two Worlds’.
